Embroidery – Scroll Stitch

SCROLL STITCH

 EQUIPMENT : Appropriate fabric (linen, aida cloth, silk, calico, cotton, satin, velvet, dress fabric, etc.),  embroidery string in different/demanded colors, scissors, embroidery needle and embroidery hoop.

 1-Attach your fabric into your embroidery hoop. Make sure your fabric is tight inside the hoop and smooth without wrinkles. Tighten the hoop around your fabric if necessary.

2-Draw the line that you will follow on your embroidery project onto fabric by embroidery pen.

3-Pass your needle from back to front with thread on the start point which is the beginning of the line that you had drawn.

4-Insert the tip of your needle through Entry Point 1. The Entry Point 1 is on the step distance far from Start Point through the Trace Line, but 1-2 mm (depends on your shape) upper than Trace Line. From front to back of your fabric.

5-Just insert your needle, without leaving the fabric insert back through Return Point 1 which is 1-2 mm (depends on your shape) below trace line and symmetrical to the Entry Point 1, from back to front and keep the needle as inserted.

6- Wrap the thread around needle once as shown on the image.

7-Tighten the thread.

8-Repeat 4, 5, 6 and 7 as much as you need.

9-In order to finalize, after tightening the thread (step 7) on your last stitch, insert the tip of your needle through End Point from front to back.
